Our research

Carers NSW is committed to undertaking and supporting high quality research that builds the evidence base about what works to support carers.

We conduct internal research and evaluation projects and partner with a range of external researchers to conduct, promote and disseminate carer research. We only support research that is ethically conducted and specifically relevant to carers.

Carers NSW contributes to the national and international evidence base about carers in the following ways:

Leading the National Carer Survey
Jointly delivering the Carer Knowledge Exchange
Publishing reports and issues papers
Presenting at conferences and forums
Partnering in research projects
Helping other researchers recruit carers to participate in their research

National Carer Survey

Every two years Carers NSW conducts a comprehensive survey to better understand what carers want and need.

Projects and partnerships

Carers NSW leads and participates in a number of research projects in partnership with government, not-for-profit organisations and academic researchers to improve the carer evidence base.

Research community

The Research Community is a network of carers living in NSW who receive monthly opportunities to participate in carer-focused research.

Our policy work

The Carers NSW Policy team monitors and analyses government policies that impact carers and advocates for change where it is needed.
